The year 2013 marked TMLP's 16th year as an internet and network services provider for its customers. Created in 1997, TMLP Online, along with the Management Information Services Group, provides a robust and resilient environment for TMLP internal and external customers.
MIS completed the Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server upgrades during the year which created a user-friendly data sharing platform for TMLP staff. In addition, a Disaster Recovery Application was completed, with an automatic start generator installed at the West Water Street facility to aid in disaster recovery. In addition, the West Water Street facility continued to be improved and enhanced with the ability to co-locate servers and offer redundant services to commercial and industrial customers.
The MIS department also designed a major outage ticket system with a selected planned outage facility and equipment required to support such an event. MIS implemented a card reader system to ensure a secure environment for TMLP and contractors alike during the scheduled plant outage.
ISG engaged in numerous long-term contracts with vendors to increase bandwidth and provide redundant paths for data flow. The TMLP Information Technology Group built upon the existing data infrastructure to provide exceptional service to TMLP's vital consumers.
